I have learned quite a bit from my first Broadcast Tech. II project. I think all in all my project came out to be okay, not great as I did not follow to rubric to the exact degree. I conducted my interview early and I had a lot of time to sort through that, but as the deadline came closer, I was not able to get the B-roll I needed due to prior commitments. This messed up my whole project as I simply did not have as much b-roll as needed and since Sen. Schupp was only here on weekends, I could not get that footage. On the editing side, I was very rusty. It took me a very long time to again get the feel of Final Cut Pro. I again forgot how to blade and had to relearn basically most aspects of Final Cut Pro. Because of these crucial mistakes I was stressed and upset that my footage was not ideal. on the other hand, I was very happy with my interviewing skills as both my interviews went very well. I was able to ask the right questions and get good footage that went pretty well with my b-roll. Along with b-roll I would like to get much better with Ken Burns style of moving pictures. Overall, I think this News Package was solid although I did not reach my full potential. The training wheels are slowly coming off and I am excited to keep making videos!
